The 3Com Switch 5500G Open Services Module (OSM) integrates Open Services Networking (OSN) applications and services directly into 3Com Switch 5500G Family switches.
With its 80 Gb hard disk drive, 1 Gb of memory and pre-installed, secure Linux operating system, the module enables a wide range of applications and services, to be installed directly into the network fabric.
The powerful, flexible design of the Switch 5500G OSM extends the capabilities of the Switch 5500G Family beyond that of just secure Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, delivering unprecedented application and services functionality while reducing cost of ownership.
